Tuesday's Treasures

For Tuesday's Treasures this week Melody has asked the question "What do you treasure most in your surroundings?"

It was really hard to decide what to show you as there is so much around my home that I love, my spa, my fish pond, my bird (which I showed a few weeks ago), birds that frequent my native garden and the green tree frogs that sit in my pergola.

In the end I decided to show you the gorgeous small town that I live in, well the jetty anyway. It is raining today so I couldn't take any other photos around town and I already had these on the computer, LOL.

We live in a beautiful bayside town between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Qld.
The bay is gorgeous and the jetty area with picnic areas and an enclosed swimming area is perfect for relaxing.
I love riding my bicycle around the town and having a rest stop at the jetty to enjoy the scenery.

The only thing we need now is a boat so we can explore the nearby islands and Treasure can enjoy one of his favourite pastimes, fishing.

Go over to Melody's and see what others treasure most about their surroundings.

Valentines Day

Yesterday when I got home from work these beautiful long stemed red roses were waiting for me.
As Treasure had to head back to work today for 2 weeks he bought these for me for Valentines Day a day early.
We decided to celebrate the day with dinner at home, prawns, snapper and salad. It was a lovely meal and a nice quiet way to spend the evening after working all weekend.

However you spend Valentines Day I wish you all a wonderful Day.

Wicked

How Wicked and Cruel Nature is at times.

How much more can this beautiful country of Australia take?

Australia and especially Queensland has been hit by the cruelest side of nature over the past couple of months.

There has been bush fires in Western Aust and now in Victoria, the devastating floods over most of Queensland, floods in western NSW and Victoria.

Just when we all thought the worst was over and Queensland could start to rebuild the worst Cyclone in Australian history hit the northern part of Qld.

The devastation in the area is terrible with Cardwell, Mission Beach, Tully and Innisfail being the worst hit areas.

Australia will continue to rebuild after all these devastating acts of Nature.

All our prayers and thoughts are with the people of northern Qld during this time.

Last night I went to see "Wicked The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz" in Brisbane.
It was a wonderful musical. The cast were amazing.
If you haven't seen Wicked I would recommend going to see it. One of the best musicals that I have seen.
The above photos are from The Wicked website.

Tuesday's Treasures

For Tuesday's Treasures hosted by Melody I thought I would show you my beautiful Red-Rumped Parrot.
They are called Red-Rumped Parrots because the males have red feathers on their backs. They are slightly bigger than budgies and have a beautiful singing voice.

I was given my little boy and a little girl in 2005 by my best friend. The little girl died about 2 years ago.
My little boy lives in his cage in my pergola.
It is great waking up to his singing each morning.
Birds are such beautiful creatures and really relax you when you are stressed.

Thanks Melody for holding Tuesday's Treasures. It is such fun taking the time to think about all the special treasures in our lives.
