I'm finally home from Nundle. I spent another week staying with family near Nundle. Spent a few days staying with my niece Bec. We had great fun setting up my blog (no I'm not really 110, just feel like it most days after work, I'm actually in my 40's). I had fun playing with her children, feeding calves and especially looking at material, patterns and quilting books.
I then stayed with her sister and got to see her new house. I ended my holiday by staying with my sister and celebrating her birthday. I got home after a 10hr drive last Sunday and straight back to work on Monday.
I have now started on the stitchery for the jewellery box, hopefully will have it finished in the next couple of days so I can sew up the box when I get home. I might then start on the needle case if I stay motivated.
It was great to meet up with all the other bloggers and yes I have now started a blog because of you all. Chookyblue you really know how to motivate people. *Bec from OhSewBusy here - Chooky cracks a whip over you says Jo from TAS
We had a "N" swap on Sat. I was given a lovely Navy Native Animal T-towel and a Notebook from Lea, Thanks a lot. When is your blog starting Lea or is it Tooth Fairy??
This is my first quilt that I made in 2007. I had never done much sewing before but was inspired by a quilt show that my local quilt shop had a few months before. This was the quilt that you make in the beginner class.
I made this quilt for my mother last year. It is a quilt as you go which made it really easy to make. Chris, who owns my local quilt shop "Buttons and Bows" decided to teach us how to use different stitches and functions on our sewing machines so we would get the most out of them. When she discovered this Monica Poole pattern she decided it was what she needed to do this. We had great fun learning to use different functions of our machines.
My mother absolutely loves this quilt and it takes pride of place on her bed. She tells everyone that she never thought that I could make such a beautiful quilt as I was never interested in sewing when I was younger.
I am a 110 year old mad quilter who lives in SE Qld, Australia. I love Reproduction Fabrics. Don't have enough time to quilt as I have a new love interest in my Life, he is 105. Do I qualify to be a Cougar?????
Actually I am in 40's and am not a Cougar as the man in my life is in his 40's too.
I don't have enough time to quilt due to work.
WORK GETS IN THE WAY OF LIFE!!!
